Background
Samuel began his career in the financial services sector with Westpac Banking Corporation and subsequently had roles at Kiwibank as a personal banking and insurance specialist. This experience equipped him to become a financial adviser in 2012, establishing his own business Rees-Thomas Financial Services.
He is also the partner in a technology company, AdviceUnlimited that assists professional services firms streamline their operations, increase their online presence and better manage their client relationships.
Educated at Wellington College, Samuel studied management and marketing at Victoria University of Wellington.
Samuel tailors his clients insurance planning to their journey and circumstances, ensuring that their insurance cover is well-priced, market-leading and well equipped to care for them, their families and their businesses.
Samuel’s approach means his clients not only have insurance that is appropriate to their needs, but also that they have an empathetic, understanding and strong advocate come claims time. As he explains, the cost of getting insurance cover wrong can be higher than you imagine and, to quote Sophocles, the Greek Tragedian, “No enemy is worse than bad advice”.
By not being tied to a particular provider, Samuel ensures your insurance delivers the best outcome should you have to make a claim.
Samuel is married to Julianne and they have recently bought their first home in Titahi Bay north of Wellington. They are accomplished musicians, are active in the Northern Hills Christian Church in Churton Park and lead the Church’s musical ministry.
